Dear friends, members and volunteers of "Caritas St. Petersburg".
The 17th of March turns the 16th anniversary of the death of our founder priest Hartmut Chania.
On this day we will gather in the Church of our lady of Lourdes (St. Petersburg, 7 Kovensky lane) at 17.00 to participate in a Liturgy dedicated to the memory of the father Hartmut.
A solemn mass will take place under the guidance of the Caritas SPB spiritual mentor, the priest Mariano José Sedano Sierra (cmf).
We are waiting for you in the Church!

We had a holiday on Saturday! Young artists visited our grandma and grandpa. And there were songs, dances and also Russian pancakes!
| The children’s center “Little Island”
March 9, we hosted guests from Europe. It were representatives of the project ERIN (EU) from Netherlands and Finland. The project deals with migration issues, in particular: with the return of our former compatriots from Europe and Australia to their historic homeland. Caritas in Moscow is a partner of this project and more than 300 Russians were able to return Home.

The life in our Center is full of events. We began to prepare for the annual creative Festival "Ringing tram" last week. Our partners and friends are involved in the preparatory process.

Our old friend Ottmar Stefan and partners from Osnabrück (Germany) visited us on March 2-3.
Our friends visited not only "Caritas St. Petersburg", but also the partner organisations staffed by volunteers from Osnabrück diocese.
Under the leadership of Bishop Johannes Wübbe (Weihbischof), the team of "Caritas Osnabrück" visited the office of Caritas St. Petersburg and the charity programs which are located in the House of monsignor Hartmut Chania, met with the staff and our clients.

A practical seminar "Coaching in the social sphere, effective techniques of working with adults and children in psychological helplessness" focused on professionals of helping sphere (psychologists, specialists in social work) took place at "Resource center for women and families with children in difficult life situation" Febrary 17.
The seminar was dedicated to one of the most pressing topics for social worker - a psychological helplessness of the clients.

Dear friends, thank you for your attention to our requests for assistance. We started The great lent with a happy event, we received a gift - the sofas for the sports room! We thank FEDERICO&CO store+coffee shop! The sports room became cozy and nice. Thank you!
Also we received hyacinths and daffodils! We will see how they will bloom and it will help us to feel the onset of spring days. Dan and Vadim volunteered to be responsible for flower watering.

We continue the acquaintance with jobs in informative living room. The second of March the guys knew about the profession of a rescuer and visited the Museum of EMERCOM. It is an unique place in St. Petersburg. We knew and saw a lot of exciting things. Thank to these brave rescuers!
