14.09.2017 | The Bishop Maletsky center of support for young disabled persons
Dear friends! Our House reopened its doors for the guys again. A traditional celebration of the beginning of the school year in the house Maletsky began with a week preparation of scenery, laughter, fun and learning! We remembered our last year's achievements and set a goal for this school year at the party 'Hello, the House!' yesterday. Also the students conducted exams for teachers and met new members of the House. And, of course, there were traditional contests, dancing, songs and festive tea party! Happy season opening! | The patronage service ‘Caritas SPb’
The first lesson of the seminar 'Basics of the care of bedridden patients' was the 12th of September. The theme of that lesson was 'Technical means of rehabilitation and arrangement of the space for patients'.
The participants knew modern technical means of rehabilitation, learned the rules for the selection and use of them. Also the students learned how the room for an ill person should look like, how to equip the bed of a patient, use the anti-decubitus mattress, bath-sheets, the chair with sanitary equipment.

"Little Island" is waiting for new children!
We invite the children from 10 to 15 years old this year.
Our Centre supports children and adolescents from socially disadvantaged families, families in difficult life situations and families of migrants.
We work on weekdays from 14:00 to 19:00.
We communicate, socialize, do homework, do creative work, participate in master classes and, of course, eat together and drink tea in "Little Island".
We have a warm, respectful, helpful and fun atmosphere!
We assist parents in addressing social issues.

The first meeting of the charitable programs "Caritas Saint-Petersburg" heads was the 6th of Semtember 2017. We have been blessed by our spiritual father Mariano Jose Sedano Sierra. Each manager spoke about the changes and new services under their programs. Also we discussed working moments and joint activities for this year.
We all met a new volunteer from Germany, Marayke Egbers, who will be working in our programs within a year and Eugenia Kolpakova, the director of a new program "Resource Information Center Caritas".
Also we discussed the "Caritas" policy of the protection of children. We have many ideas that we would like to implement this year. We want to make our assistance more timely and accessible for our beneficiaries. Happy new work year, dear staff!

We are glad to inform you that reception of masters in social work starts from September.
The reception will be held at 18 Ryabinovaya street (Kolomyagi district, metro "Pionerskaya", bus № 170 or 172 to the last stop "Repischeva Street") weekly on Tuesdays from 17 to 20.
At the reception you can get advice on the various issues of dependency, codependency,violence, homelessness, child abandonment, and other difficult life situations.
We will find a solution to a difficult situation and will help you to find free help in projects of Caritas,and the budgetary institutions and NGOs of the city and region.
All services are free.

12.07.2017 | The program of the family-oriented support for children in difficult life situations in children’s centres Caritas Saint-Petersburg.
The seminar-training on the program of prevention of violence against children and adolescents "GRIT" held the 28th of June. The seminar was organized by the charity project "Сhildren's Center "Little Island" of "Caritas SPb". The seminar was leading by Svetlana Artemyeva, a head of the board "Civil Initiative", a psychologist from Zlatoust city. The seminar was attended by 20 specialists, psychologists, educators, teachers working in public and private centres and providing support to children and adolescents. The participants highly appreciated Svetlana's professionalism and noted her style of presentation based on the principles of non-violence and dialogue. It was also important that Svetlana shared her experiences, answered questions and generously shared techniques and best practices. A trusting atmosphere that was created by Svetlana in the group, also helped to work on a difficult subject.
Premises in the city centre for a workshop were donated by the Public Organization "Open Space". A huge thanks to the administration for this contribution! We thank colleagues for their fruitful work at the seminar, we wish you a busy summer holiday and are looking forward to cooperation!
