Here is again sad news from Germany.
F. Claus Semecki, father Hartmut's friend and classmate at the Seminary, died today. Father Zemecki was not only a priest but also a talented artist. Our chapel in the House of the father Hartmut at 18 Ryabinovaya st. is such a beautiful, uncluttered and family place thanks to sketchings of f. Claus. Thanks to f. Claus for the assistance of Caritas. O Lord, welcome him in your kingdom!

Dear friends! We regret to inform you that Hubertus Tsomak, General vicar of the diocese of Gerlitz and a great friend of Caritas St. Petersburg, died on the morning of February 22, 2019. Thank him for his friendship and support, may the Lord accept him into his Kingdom!

A group of social workers, "Complex center of social service for the population of Kirovsky district, St-Petersburg" continued training in the fundamentals of bedridden patients' care. There are a lot of stroke patients at the Center. Therefore, it was important for them to learn how to care for patients properly and to adapt them to everyday life. The care based on the concept of Bobat was new to them.

A lecture for seniors on the topic "Hypertension. Prevention of complications" was held on the basis of SPb GRUSON "Complex center of Kirovskiy district social service for the population" at the address 29 Baltiyskaya str. the 19th of January. The lecture was about the symptoms, causes of the disease, the rules of measurement and control of blood pressure. A healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition and physical activity contribute to the prevention of hypertension.

The theme of the latest seminar for social workers of the Center of Social Services was Prevention of emotional burnout in the care of a patient. The purpose of the seminar was to learn how to maintain good health of a caregiver.
The participants worked on a" recipe for self-help" and learned the techniques of emotional tension equalization during the lesson. The method of art therapy also helps to cope with emotional burnout.

Training on the basis of DIPI №1 is continuing. The first lesson for the junior medical staff was held within the signed cooperation agreement the 18th of January.
The aim of training: to transfer special knowledge and skills in care, to deepen them, to facilitate care, to reduce pressure.
The theme of the first lesson: Technical means of rehabilitation and arrangement of living space of the patient.

Mary and Joseph, the Baby, the Magi and other characters were born in our workshops at the end of the Christmas week.

Social and medical workers of departments of the Social service complex center of the population in the Kirovsky district continued training on the basics of care for bedridden patients on January 16, 2019.

The winter holidays passed quickly. They were filled with exciting events for us: we baked pancakes and played board games, went on interesting trips and received guests!
Of course, we celebrated the New year in the "Ostrovok" and the younger guys visited the "Christmas Tree Performance" in Anichkov Palace. There was sea of smiles, dancing, funny tests and games, quiz, Snow Maiden at our events!
We had a meeting with children from "St. Petersburg | help to children of migrants" the 5th of January. We got acquainted, played, did unusual figures of sweets.
