02.07.2019 | The children’s center “Ostrovok”
Children do not come to the "Ostrovok" now, but adults continue to work and actively prepare for the next school year.
We would very much like to update and make our "Ostrovok" more home, so please donate such important things for comfort as: soft sofas, armchairs, bean bags, floor lamps, blankets and pillows.
The full list of very necessary for all "islanders" things that we can not buy from the budget of the project, you can see in the Discussions. If you are ready to give us something from the list, write to "The messages" of the group, we are in touch.

| The promotion of inclusion in child care centres “Caritas Saint-Petersburg”
From now on, "Ostrovok" is not just a social center for teenagers, but an inclusive center! This means that in the new academic year we are happy to invite children with special needs and, of course, their parents. We sincerely believe that everyone needs a place where security and acceptance can be obtained, and there should be no restrictions on the way to such an island of kindness. Now we are actively planning our work and learning. There will be new significant areas within the project in the autumn:
- support group for parents of special children and adolescents
- psychological counseling for parents of special children and adolescent
- individual support of teenagers with special needs visiting our center
We also plan cooperation and friendship with other inclusive spaces and projects of St. Petersburg. We will visit them and invite them to our centre, arrange meetings and classes devoted to life with disabilities, our peculiarities, difficulties and, most importantly, the fact that each person is unique and beautiful.
Of course, the work of our main directions will continue:
- work with teenagers in the day center
- support group for adolescents over 14 years
- psychological consultations for children and parents
- social support for families
- support group for parents of teenagers
And many more interesting and important things. Waiting on "Ostrovok"!

In the framework of "School of Care for Seriously Ill People" continues to work within cooperation with the ChF "AdVita" on the basis of polyclinic № 77 of Nevsky district on Saturdays. Classes are conducted by the nurse of the Patronage service "Caritas St. Petersburg" Galina Fomina.
