Mrs. Doris Epple has been awarded by the Governor of St. Petersburg with the Badge of Honour "For Mercy". The badge will be given to Natalia Pevtsova in the City Hall of St. Petersburg on the 29th of November at 16 o’clock.
Mrs. Doris Epple supports relief projects for the homeless and the disabled not only in St. Petersburg but also in Pskov, Krasnoyarsk, Saratov and in Ukraine. More than 400 people in the Northwest region receive daily hot meals and medical help. In the course of many years Mrs. Doris Epple has already raised almost
2, 000,000 EUR for the needy in Russia.
The badge is recognition of Mrs. Epple’ special merits in the field of homeless care in St. Petersburg and is awarded due to "her active support for social services by job placement and social care for homeless people."
The badge was made of 925-carat silver. On its face, covered with blue enamel, a silver angel with a cross is depicted - the symbol of St. Petersburg.
