Fairytale characters in the Shelter for the Mobility-impaired and Disabled “Under the wings of Doris”

Баскина ЛюдмилаThere is a frosty winter behind the window. However, it is warm and cozy in the shelter "Under the wings of Doris". Thanks to the good hands of Ludmila Baskina, fairy tale characters newly live here; they gladden the residents’ eyes and warm their souls.

Due to osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) and torn ligaments in his knee, Ludmila was qualified for the 2nd (moderate) degree of disability. She experiences difficulty with walking and moves in the apartment using a cane. But the disease does not prevent her to embrace life and enjoy every day. Since Ludmila has learned the Japanese art of origami, she makes funny colorful figures, flowers and vases from little squares of paper and gives them to other residents of the nursing home so that they can recharge their optimism and forget their everyday worries. 

There remains no time to think of your disease, if you wonder every time what comes out of paper: a swan, a big-eared eagle owl, or perhaps a kitten? 

When looking at all this beauty created by the hands of Ludmila, one can only admire her. This person does not complain about her fate and the harsh diagnosis, but she overcomes all the life difficulties and brings other people joy and smiles through her handiworks.
